Eric Crowley is a Partner based in San Francisco with the investment-banking firm GP Bullhound, where he focuses on M&A, capital raises and strategic advisory transactions for technology companies. He currently leads the firm's "Consumer Subscription Software" (CSS) practice, working with growth-stage companies across the U.S. and Europe in sectors such as software, fintech, digital services and ad-tech. Selected transactions he has advised on include companies such as AllTrails, Captiv8, Urban Sports Club, among others.
Prior to GP Bullhound, Eric developed his career across both operating and advisory roles in middle-market transactions. He began in investment banking at Lazard Middle Market in Chicago, advising companies in M&A and restructuring across consumer and industrial sectors. Crowley then served as a finance and strategy executive at a software start-up in the educational technology space, where he focused on driving growth initiatives and financial management. Later, Eric worked at Antares Capital, concentrating on middle-market M&A and debt transactions, where he helped complete more than US$2 billion worth of deals.
Eric holds a B.S. in Management and International Business from Xavier University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Outside of his transaction work, Eric is known for his thought leadership in the subscription-software space and regularly speaks on topics such as recurring-revenue models, digital-consumer growth and vertical niche strategies.
